June Bug

June has been full of a lot of Summer Fun.
The boys have been in full Summer Mode of going going going....the more the better.
Where are we going today? On most days it is as I like to say "Camp Layne"!
We like to be busy and we have a lot of great activities that we like to do.
Summer Crafts and projects are a must to keep these boys busy!
We started one of our favorite months June Bug...with making
Father's Day Pictures and Cards for Dad's Big Celebration.

We had a such a great day celebrating father's day. We were so blessed to have
Our Dad's here for the Celebration as well as Mike being able to have
fun with the boys. It was a great Celebration!

"Explore a Shore" at the Florida Aquarium
is a great Spot for us!
We met some friends and
had a great time!

Brody has a heck of a time playing Captain Hook on the
Pirate Ship in the Water Park!

Brooks and Brody went to Camp for a Week
long fun of "Camping"! They
had all sorts of fun with friends Camping with Tents,
Nature Trails, Smore's, and making fun Crafts.
Brooks made a Water Canteen!
Big Hit!

Brooks loves the Reptile Room!
We have to read all about every
Frog and Snake!!

The boys have to see every animal
every time we go!

The Turtles were cool that day...
they were actually on the go!

Brody is always a good time!

Look closely at the Rhino's!

The boys were thrilled about all the African
Animals...Zebras, Elephants, Giraffes, and Rhinos.

June brought us a lot of great family time and a lot of great
Summer Activities. We look forward to more Summer Fun!

Wishing you all Safe Summer Family Fun!

Sunscreen

Well....Summer is in Full Swing and we use Sunscreen everyday in our house.
Whether we are at the Beach, the Pool, the Park, or even Tennis.....we lather up!
I know that in years past I have read up on Sunscreen's and the good and the bad.
If you go in the Sunscreen Aisle in a Store these days it is way full of a lot of products...it is truly hard to know what to buy. It really depends on what you are looking for....Anti Aging, SPF, Broad Spectrum, Moisturizing, Block, Free of PABA, and Many More.  When I think of Sunscreen ....I really think of my boys and keeping their Skin Healthy at such a young age. I also think of my face....and what my dermatologist advises. I read a couple articles on the internet in regards to ingredients in Sunscreen's and how some of them can be harmful and we should avoid.
I thought I would pass it on to my family and friends....a few things to note.
Please do your own research as well,
so you are comfortable with your Sunscreen for you and your family.

A few Ingredients to Avoid in Sunscreen that can be harmful are the following: Oxybenzone, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Paba, and Triethanolamine. The Ingredients that are Safe in a Sunscreen that you should look for are the following: Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide.

I learned a lot about the Sunscreen's as I went through probably 25 different Sunscreens in our house.
I had just recently purchased some New Sunscreen as Summer just began...so I actually returned
some Sunscreen to the Store to buy different kinds.
Check out some of the Different Brands of Sunscreens and what I learned.

These are all Sunscreens that I was able to return as they were Brand New....but it was interesting
as these were Neutrogena Products that looked really good for Kids and Adults.
All of these Products had a Percentage of Oxybenzone in the Active Ingredients.
As easy as the Sprays were for the Kids.....they are just not so good!

These were all Sunscreens that I found in our home that I will probably have
to throw away! All of these Products had a Percentage of the Oxybenzone as well.
I was bummed because some of my Favorites in here were the
Aveeno, Neutrogena, Kiehls, and La Roche-Posay.
We all have to remember...everything in moderation.
So, maybe not using these Sunscreen's
all the time...rotating different lotions.
Also note that maybe just less Chemicals in your Sunscreen
can be healthier for our bodies than one with so many Ingredients.

These are the Sunscreens that I recommend and just purchased.
Neutrogena Pure and Free Baby and Coppertone Sensitive Skin....these Products have
less Chemicals and the Ingredients that are Safe Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide.
My thoughts are in looking for a Sunscreen....you should look for one that is for a Baby,
Sensitive Skin, Pure and Free, and Less Chemicals.
Bottom line a lot of those Sunscreens have too many
Chemicals that can be harmful to our bodies...especially the kids!

The last thing I would suggest is for you to Google Sunscreen and Learn about Ingredients in
the Different Brands for your own Safety!
Of course protecting our Skin in the Harsh Summer Weather
is the most important!

Wear your SPF!
